How can I download captions (CC subtitles) from youtube videos, if video is available with captions.

I was overjoyed to see the suggestion in Semavi's post, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me, and Google has no information about a site called youtubeSD.com
If anyone knows how to DL subtitles, please post it, many of us will be grateful

I'm deaf, so subtitles are important to me as well. I ran into this problem with the Pro version of the downloader,
I did a little a search and found a page that will automatically create an SRT that can be downloaded and added to your video file.
First of all, the youtube must have captions enabled. This is the case when you can see them but the downloader doesn't grab them.
So take the URL of the video that you want to KEEP subtitled and ADD an SD into youtube's domain name... for example
https://www.youtubeSD.com/watch?v=xoxoxoxoxoxox
Then click your renamed link, and it will go to where you can choose your SRT settings.
Works great!The SRT is a separate file and so it can be edited in notepad. I use VLC to play videos and handbrake to do a new vid with the subtitles burned in for personal use.
